I know it was asked a few days ago, but ebay purchases are only as good as
the person selling it to you. Always remember that ebay is simply an
auction house, handling an auction for the real owner. eBay doesn't "sell"
anything (I don't think).

Do your best at deciding if the seller is someone you'd deal with in person,
and go for it. I've had very good luck on eBay, more than 100 transactions,
only 1 I'd call marginal, stuff described as "good condition" was really
ready for the dumpster. When I contacted the seller expecting a fight or to
be ignored, my money was refunded without question, though he didn't want
the stuff back, so I suspect he knew he was selling junk. Can't call it
bad, just not a good one. The other 99+ I got what I expected, sometimes
more.

You'll have to judge from asking the seller questions about the unit how
much he knows about it, and go from there. Sometimes you take a chance on
questionable stuff if the price is great, and other times you pay a premium
when you know it's good.
