What I've been finding with Charter cable is that a large majority of the HD shows are blocked from being copied. Glen

If the standard round dish mounts OK, the HD dish should be fine. Odd about the eaves or fascia, since I see DirecTV and DISH Network dishes mounted on walls, gables, chimneys, etc - pretty much any surface on a house. > Is it possible (provided I network them) to have two HD TiVos sharing > recordings in real time? But you can copy shows from one TiVo to another, and play back while it is copying. So you'd start a copy from the other TiVo and start playback, and as long as your network is fast enough it'll transfer in better than real time so you can jump around within the part transferred to that point. There is one major caveat - this only works if the content is not forbidden from copying. Cable MSOs can put flags on content that only allows it to be copied once - and that's the original recording. Content so flagged is blocked from copying to another TiVo, TiVoToGo, etc, and can only be watched on the original TiVo. The new TiVo Premiere has the power to stream readily, and some believe TiVo is likely to introduce it in a software update - streaming isn't copying, so that would be a way around this issue. But who knows if/when this would happen. Another option would be a Slingbox PRO-HD and a PC/Mac with SlingPlayer or a SlingCatcher in the room you want to view it in. This would also have the advantage of supporting placeshifting outside of the home to mobile clients, etc. -- [email protected] / [email protected] Geek, Gweep, Technophile, me. www.GizmoLovers.com / www.MegaZone.org / www.Eyrie-Productions.com Hail Eris Twitter.com/megazone / Facebook.com/megazone / www.LinkedIn.com/in/megazone "A little nonsense now and then, is relished by the wisest men" 432-363-4296 [Non-text portions of this message have been removed] ------------------------------------ Yahoo!
