about 2.5 years ago I had a Kenwood TS-2000 TRX, then I
explorered this feature in Hamlib, and I've used it. (Then I found a
bug in Hamlib Python/Perl/etc binding, in this and similar
features :))

I think we can add this functionality - but I don't know (and
don't remember), how does it work exactly, eg. what happens, when
you send the message to RIG, and pressing ESC, or simply how can
you stop immediate the transmit?
