JESUIT REFUGEE SERVICE (JRS) INDONESIA

JRS Indonesia is accepting applications for the following jobs:


Information/Advocacy Officer  Ambon


Applicants can download the form from www.jrs.or.id (library-application form) and CV will be accepted by email ([EMAIL PROTECTED]) until December 13, 2003 however, suitable applicants applying before the final date will be considered in advance. There are two option dates for the tests: 10-11 December or 15-16 December 2003 in Yogyakarta.

Brief position descriptions are listed below:


Position title: Secretary/Assistant for Information-Advocacy Manager
Location: Yogyakarta, Indonesia
Position Status: National staff, full time, salary according to JRS Indonesia Policy

Purpose: This position will be responsible for assisting Information-advocacy Manager of JRS Indonesia in collecting, organizing, and disseminating strategic information related to JRS program in Indonesia, both to assist management decision and keep stakeholders transparently informed about JRS operations, as well as running JRS Indonesia secretariat.

Qualification: This position requires BA/S or equivalent in mass communication or relevant field. 2 years experience working with an NGO or international organization is desirable. A year working as an information officer is highly desirable. Advanced computer skills including knowledge of software used for graphical designing, power point, and databases program is mandatory. A general understanding of relief and development programs is required. Fluency in English, verbal and written, is compulsory. Multi tasking, organizational, prioritization skills are necessary. Demonstrated initiative, attention to details, ability to follow procedures, meet deadlines and work independently and cooperatively with team members is required. Willing to accept the Charter and Guidelines of JRS, the mission, and the personnel guidelines of JRS Indonesia. Willing to serve other people, generous, honest, and not only working for her/his own benefit.
Responsibilities/Duties:
1.      Assist actively in gathering information from all JRS Indonesia teams and local NGO projects, input them into an electronic database, and maintain the database become reliable and up to date.
2.      Translate the data collected and provide regular reports to JRS Advocacy Manager and JRS country director.
3.      Proactively inform all stakeholders about JRS Indonesia program and funded projects implemented by local partners, through monthly reports, newsletters (Up date) and other media.
4.      Modify existing information products and data management tools, and/or design new system as appropriate to manage the collection and flow of information.
5.      Conduct himself/herself both professionally and personally in such manner as to bring credit to JRS and not to jeopardize its humanitarian mission in Indonesia.
6.      Other duties as required.

6.      Travel occasionally to the field to understand the program
