Hi,

first i have to say that i am a newbie concerning Linux and Network
configuration, so please be patient. I did not manage to get TMDA working
for me, so my last hope is that i get enough help her, as TMDA is the best
System i have ever heard of. Well i tell you how far i came alone,
unfortunately not very far. I have a SuSE Linux Distribution and installed
it on VMware (a Virtual Machine running under Windows). It is installed with
NAT+DHCP. In the standard installation without having configured anything
myself, the Linux was able to use the DFU Internet connection. The Internet
connection is with T-Online (T-DSL). At my ISP i have installed 2 mailboxes
(POP3). On the first i have linked the adress [EMAIL PROTECTED] and
on the second [EMAIL PROTECTED] Well, i now tried to get my mails
from mailbox1 (linuxmail@...) and forward them to mailbox2
(linuxnospam@...) with fetchmail. Fetchmail i let run from local user markus
at my Linux. So in the homedirectory from markus i created 2 files
(.fetchmailrc and .procmailrc) both chmod 600. With the following
.fetchmailrc:

poll "markusveih.de" protocol pop3
user "secret"
pass "secret"
mda /usr/bin/procmail

.procmailrc:

:0
[EMAIL PROTECTED]

i managed what i wanted. It now fetched the Mails from mailbox1 and send it
to mailbox2. Now i tried to configure TMDA and let it filter the mails that
come from mailbox1. Unfortunately there i did not come very far and also all
helpfiles at tmde.net did not help me enough. After downloading the tmda
tarball i copied it into the homedirectory from user markus. There i
decompressed it with gunzip and then had a directory tmda-0.65 in the
homedirectory. I changed to it and used ./compileall. So far everything
worked fine. Now i created a .tmda directory in the homedir. Into that dir,
i created a file called crypt_key and copied the key, that was created by
tmda-keygen. Now i am stuck. I do not know how to proceed further. I think i
have to create several directories and configfiles, but do not know which
and what to write into the files. Well TMDA should work as filter for
mailbox1. So after fetching the mails from mailbox1 i do want to have them
filtered with TMDA and then forward them to mailbox2. I do not need the
dated mails and all those other special mails. I only want to use the featur
to look into my whitelist, if the senderadress is approved then forward it
and otherwise challenge it. I have a starting whitelist which is in the
following format. Every line 1 entry. There are some domains that i want to
have in my whitelist that i want with all subdomains included. For that i
use @=markusveith.de. And for every mailadress 1 line.e.g.:
@=markusveith.de
@=uni-muenchen.de
...
[EMAIL PROTECTED]
[EMAIL PROTECTED]
...

If somebody could help me to configure TMDA correct, i would be very glad.
Alone, i do not know any further. Thanks in advance.

Greetings,

Markus Veith
