Jesse, I just tried sending a message from an unconfirmed Yahoo address (this one in fact) to a test account on my machine running qmail with TMDA. It seems to have worked just fine for me. After I sent the message, a few seconds passed and I got the confirmation request. I replied to the confirmation, and a few seconds later I got the acceptance message.
