Another question, forgive me, but perhaps someone noticed the same
thing...
I have no idea why the first attempt of sending mail via tmda-ofmipd
(first one after starting the daemon) always fails on my server with
an error which states that the server response was empty. (The Bat!
says: "Server reports error. The response is:"). The second attempt is
OK on the other hand and from there on tmda-ofmipd works like it
should.
The log doesn't help here much. Here's the logfile from the attempt:
=== cut ===
tmda-ofmipd started at Tue Mar 18 01:05:36 CET 2003
Listening on tonid.net:8025
Incoming connection from ('192.168.1.3', 1457)
Incoming connection to ('213.76.227.14', 8025)
Peer: ('192.168.1.3', 1457)
Data: 'EHLO kzanol'
=== cut ===
that's it. Nothing more.
I'm starting tmda-ofmipd via an /etc/init.d script like this:
=== cut ===
start() {
# Start daemons.
echo "Starting tofmipd"
/usr/local/tmda/bin/tmda-ofmipd -d -p tonid.net:8025 1>/var/log/tofmipd.log
2>/var/log/tofmipd.log
}
=== cut ===
So nothing fancy...
I'm using CRAM-MD5 authentication in The Bat! and the usernames and
passwords are in /etc/tofmipd, under user tofmipd:tofmipd with 400
perms.
Is this a bug or is this my fault?
