I realise that this is, strictly speaking, off-topic. However I'm asking for help in a problem that arises due to my use of TMDA, so I hope that people can forgive me :-)

Can anybody help me with a way to split a large email from teh command line? To explain:

Every few days, a cron job mails me a list of new messages in teh TMDA pending queue. At present this mail is usually around 55kB. This is fine except when I'm away travelling and reading my mail on a palmtop, as these messages get truncated (I don't know what the limit is, 32 or 48kB seems likely).

Now I could simply have this job run more often for more, smaller mails, but (a) it's a bit of a bodge, and (b) I don't want to get these messages more often!

Is there any program that I can pipe the mail through which will split it into sections of a certain size?

Thanks for any help.
