It is, that's why it's only received 2 pieces of spam in almost 3 years.
In this case, a forged address triggered a bounce from a non
RFC-compliant MTA that released the spam. From the logs:
Date: Fri Nov 21 05:27:23 CST 2003
From: "Kabir Umar." <[EMAIL PROTECTED]>
Rept: [EMAIL PROTECTED]
To: [EMAIL PROTECTED]
Subj: How are you.
Actn: CONFIRM pending 1069414043.6848.msg
Date: Fri Nov 21 05:27:34 CST 2003
Sndr: <>
From: "Mail9.com Postmaster" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]>
To: [EMAIL PROTECTED]
Subj: Mail delivery failed: returning message to sender
Actn: CONFIRM accept 1069414043.6848.msg
I've now blacklisted mail9.com at the Postfix level. I could of
course remove the "Reply-To" line from the confirm_request.txt
template so this won't happen again as described in FAQ 1.13, but I'd
rather not unless this trend continues.
