Hi,

At the moment, I've got qmail set up on my server to receive email for myself and a
few customers. When I send email, however, I use my ISP's SMTP server. But now that
I'm implementing TMDA with qmail, I realize that I may need to use my qmail as a SMTP
server as well in order to tag my outgoing emails. There are 2 solutions to this as
far as I can tell: I can set up pine or mutt on the server and send email that way, or
I can use my Sylpheed MUA to send email via tmda-ofmipd. Anyway to prepare myself for
using my qmail this way, I read up on relaying and found one author
(http://www.palomine.net/qmail/relaying.html) who says that it wouldn't be ideal to
relay emails through the server when not on the same network.

According to what I've read on the TMDA website, a user who is not on the same network
as the server can use TMDA via the tmda-ofmipd, but will end up sending his passwords
in the clear. One solution is to use stunnel or ssh to encrypt the connect.

Can someone give me any feedback on this subject.

Thanks,

Mark
