The confirmation address should be "nerull-confirm-XXXX.nnn.nnn" but,
as you can see in the log above, it is missing the "nerull-".  My
guess is that you have "nothingnet.com" in both 'locals' and
'virtualdomains'.  If so, this is an incorrect qmail configuration and
you'll want to fix it.

If all the rest of your mail seems to be working fine, then you can
remove it from 'virtualdomains', since 'virtualdomains' is not
consulted if qmail finds the domain in 'locals'.  Beyond that, I can't
tell you much, since only you know how you want/need to configure the
"nothingnet.com" domain.  It needs to be in only one of those qmail
config files, though, in order to work correctly.
