Hello,
Mandrake 9.2
Vpopmail
TMDA 1.0
Now that I have the incoming portion of TMDA working
great, I am trying to get the outgoing working. For
this, I am trying to tmda-ofmipd.
I created and empty file, '/etc/tofmipd', because I
understand tmda-ofmipd complains when it's not
present. I start tmda-ofmpid with the following
command line:
tmda-ofmipd -d -f -R pop3://mail.mydomain.com:110
--vhome-script
/usr/share/doc/tmda-1.0/contrib/vpopmail-vdir.sh -A
"/home/vpopmail/bin/vchkpw /bin/true"
and it starts up. However, when I try to send a mail,
I get the following output:

and privacy reasons)

[/usr/lib/python2.3/site-packages/TMDA/Util.py|getgid|96])
Now I am thinking that the problem is with the
'(exceptions.KeyError:'getpwnam(): name not found'
error, because for some reason it is not
authenticating via POP3,
As a test, in '/etc/tofmipd', I added a user and
password, and re-ran tmda-ofmipd without the -R
option. Sending using that username and password
worked like a charm.
I would prefer not to authenticate that way, since
mail accounts are created automagically, and is one
less file of usernames I have to maintain. I also do
not want to use a single username/password for
everyone, because if I have to change that password
for whatever reason, I prefer not having 1,000+
clients calling wondering ahy they can't send mail.
Once again, your help is appreciated. I am thinking
there is something wrong with my command-line
arguments, but I am unable to determine what.
Thank you, in advance!
Sincerely,
Alan Murrell <[EMAIL PROTECTED]>
