If the mail is really sent *to* that address, you should never see
it.  Do you have this line at the beginning of your filter file?  Or
do you have it after your whitelists?  It would be best to put it at
the beginning.

You mean that spammers are confirming their messages?  If you are
dropping messages to that address (using the 'to' rule, above), you
should never send a confirmation request back to the spammer, and so
they should never have the chance to confirm.  If they are showing up
in your confirm-append file, something is obviously wrong.

If you could show us the log entries from LOGFILE_INCOMING where you
got spam to "[EMAIL PROTECTED]" it would help.
