This is what I meant when I said ``unpredictable'' -- it may work fine
for you, but did not for me and many others.

You're probably a good candidate for my recommendation of only running
tmda-ofmipd under daemontools if absolutely necessary; it's probably
necessary for you if your only alternative is /etc/rc.local.

It very well may, but thus far no one has been able to tell me
_exactly_ what needs to be tweaked in order to make it run perfectly
under daemontools.
