Try releasing a 2nd message after the first and see if it goes through. 
I think I experienced what you are experiencing and releasing a 2nd 
message made them both go through (actually, I tried to release 2, and 
they both sat there in italics at the bottom until I released a 3rd 
message, in which they all went through).
