Some people love sendmail, I have not used it unless I have to and then I recommend it be changed to qmail.
Sendmail is problematic, unpredictable, and flawed.
This looks to me to be a sendmail problem plus I am not really sure how you could even get TMDA to work with sendmail.
Just thought I would reply and let you know that you may wish to try a different, more flexible, mail program.
