Yes, but how often does that really happen? Someone sends an email and immediately gets a challenge email. They respond to the challenge.
In order for this to be a problem it would have to be the first time ever that they sent you an email and they would suddenly send you four messages before they respond to the first challenge? They should not fall off the earth unless you are requesting a challenge and not whitelisting people that respond to challenges. Plus you can always manage the pending queue. It is a needed feature that once one is release all are but in reality this problem should be rare. If a normal person sends an email and one comes back explaining they must respond to get mail through, and continues to send emails without responing to the challenges, then there is more wrong on the sender side.
