Good point.  But I still see some value in TMDA supporting SPF a bit.
For instance, it would be nice to have an option to simply trust emails
that meet an SPF record's requirements.. ignoring the "~all" flag, of
course.

I'm interested in hearing what others have done to counteract SpamCop's
blacklists.. it seems they have set up "traps" to blacklist all
challenge response systems. ;(

This is probably a job for the MTA itself - during initial inbound mail
acceptance, the SPF record should be checked, and the mail
rejected/dropped right then.
