Don't waste your time until it's clear SRS will become a reality. I'm not convinced of this just yet.

I don't want to implement the SRS standard, such as it is, I just want to make forwarding to SPF-enabled servers possible. All it really has to be is a rewrite of the envelope such that:


1 - The domain part of the address will pass an SPF check at the receiving host

2 - If that bounces for some reason we can undo the rewrite and forward the bounce back to the original envelope

This isn't actually SRS, it's just making forwarding to SPF-enabled servers possible.

This may be useful for users who are on a host which does not do SRS or SPF but wish to forward mail to a SPF-enabled host, or for SPF-enabled hosts who haven't implemented SRS yet. I don't know how often either of these will happen.
