I had my rehab 9 years ago at Kessler in West Orange NJ. At the time it was a non-profit center. It is now a for profit center with numerous small satelite locations. I spent 13 weeks at Kessler and went from no walking whatsoever to leaving with just a regular cane. I received 3 hours of physical therapy and 2 hours of occupational therapy everyday (except Sundays). I believe the therapy I had at Kessler had a great deal with the progress I have had. As far as Lyrica goes, It was originally prescribed to me by Dr Kerr. I began about 14 months ago with 300 mg per day (150 mg twice a day). I have had so much success with this drug that last month during my annual visit to see Dr Kerr he upped my dosage to 450 mg per day. I have had major improvements as far as lessening the feelings of banding, pins & needles and numbness. It has helped me to walk better, longer and with less discomfort. I have had zero side effects from this drug...maybe I am just one of the lucky ones but Lyrica has been the most effective drug I have taken in 9 years. Rob in New Jersey PS: I just returned from Paris where for 5 days I walked a minimum of 2 miles a day. I exercise everyday even though it hurts. As I have stated before TM is not going to effect my life because I will not allow it to. I fight this condition everyday, and except for sports I do everything.....even if it hurts and fatigues me.....this condition will not be allowed to define my life. I never feel sorry for myself or ask "why me"....I just give thanks for everything I have and never forget that no matter how bad things get, there are so many people out there far worse than me. A positive attitude goes a long way.

I THINK ITS NOT TO FAR FROM WHERE YOU LIVE MAYBE 2 OR 3 HOURS. IF THAT IS TO FAR GET IN TOUCH WITH JOHN HOPKINS, THEY CAN TELL YOU A REHAB IN YOUR AREA THAT IS GOOD. I KNOW PEOPLE WHO DID THAT. HE DEFINATELY NEEDS REHAB AND TO GET HIS LIMBS WORKING AGAIN. POOL THERAPY I FIND IS EXCELLENT. ITS DIFFICULT AND HARD BUT HE CAN IMPROVE IF HE HAS THE RIGHT DOCTORS AND CARE. I WISH YOU AND MIKE ALL THE BEST. SINCERELY PAM TO ALL WHO TOOK LYRICA AND HAD PROBLEMS. I DID SOME RESEARCH AND I DID NOT LIKE THE SIDE EFFECTS. MY DOCTORS GAVE ME SAMPLES TO TRY, I AM NOT GOING TO TAKE IT, I HAVE HEARD TO MANY PEOPLE HAVE SO MANY OF THE SIDE EFFECTS ON THE DRUG ON THE LIST AND FROM OTHER FRIENDS WHO TOOK IT, I AM BRINGING ALL THE INFO I GOT ON IT AND TAKE IT TO THE DOCTOR, I WAS SUPPOSSED TO GO TODAY BUT WEATHER WAS SO BAD STORMS FLOODING AND TORNADOS. I RESCHEDULED AS MANY DID I WAS TOLD. IF THIS IS THE NEW DRUG TO TAKE NEURONTINS PLACE I WILL JUST STAY ON THE NEURONTIN, I HAVE NO PROBLEMS WITH IT JUST ALOT OF BACK PAIN. BEST WISHES TO ALL. Pam
