I wonder if the laws changed since I went on medicare in 1996? I was on COBRA insurance for 18 months ,( I had forgotten that) and then on medicare:I was never without health insurance coverage. I had been in an HMO for several years before tm,and have been with the same HMO since. Cheryl

I was still without money for six months and health care for two years while I was paralyzed and in a manual wheel chair.
