You can get on SSDI immediately -- apply online.
The first payment will not arrive until 6 months after approval.
The 2 years was my waiting time for Medicare.
Akua
SSDI;
I hear that it takes 24 months to get on SSDI.
I am 63 this past April; in 24 months I will be
65, and in another 8 months will be at full
retirement age of 66.
I certainly am now really disabled, thanks to
these frequent and randomly occurring attacks
that leave me helpless.
Will SSDI give me benefits I have not counted?
If you know something that would help me, I
would be happy to hear of it, because it is now
clear that I am totally disabled as far as being
a working stiff is concerned.
Thanks, everyone,
Dalton Garis

Subject: RE: [TMIC] Neurology Now
Hi Dalton,
Keep in mind that Walmart has a list of
medications that are only $4.00 per month
(without insurance). It is extensive.and they
have copies to take home in the pharmacy at each
Walmart. I take this list to the doctor when we
go so that the doctor can possibly prescribe one
of the medications on the list and we can save
some money. We have a prescription plan but it
has a $3500 per year limit and my husband has
reached that so we are paying for drugs out of
pocket now.
Also, if you have paid into social security you
may be able to get social security
disability..you might want to look into that as
well.
Welcome home to the USA.how are you doing since you have gotten here?
Emily
