Hey all!

I guess it's been awhile since this lurker has came out to talk, and I
figured what better thing to do than talk about how wonderful the TMNT
has been doing lately. I know I see the topics go by almost all the
time and I do glance at it when it's about stuff like Mica's note on
Kevin's new book. And I just can't believe how well the TMNT has been
in these past few months, compared to the last 3 years.

First I'll like to express, I know I've said it before, but since I
haven't emailed in awhile here it is again. When Peter Laird got the
rights for the TMNT I was scared, I didn't know where the Turtles were
going to go, or if they were even going to go. Since a lot of the TMNT
projects before the merger seemed to be more with Kevin, like with Ninja
Turtles the Next Mutation. And everyone talking how they're going to
Kevin this, and that about the new movies and everything... when it went
to Peter I did not know what to think or where it would go, and I'm now
proud of how well he's been handling the Turtles and that they're getting
another chance to come back. And Peter really has earned a big THANKS
from all of us fans on the wonderful job he's been doing!

The new comic was enough to have me a happy camper. Infact this year I
didn't even try to hold another booth at Motor City Comic Con. The comic
was out, and it was going over so well. There was something for us
obsessed TMNT fans to get our hands onto to look at and read... but Peter
didn't stop there and now we got so much. In the past month a ton of
things have came to our hands...

- TMNT 2 and 3 on DVD. True, not really any good features on them, but
still worth getting to watch in wide screen and to enjoy in a better
format than VHS. * Right now got TMNT 1 playing on the DVD player *
- The Fox Box. Bummer they took the video out, at least there wasn't
anything really big TMNT on it. Though I would of liked to have had the
VHS any how. Though I did get my hands on the box and was happy to see
the TMNT on it, and in it. Disappointed the comic strip was just a
remake of the first few pages of the original comic.. I was hoping to
see a new story line in the little comic. Though to kids that is a new
story line, and at least they had a TMNT comic in it.
- The lastest issue of the TMNT comic, #5,... Gotta love it, though I'd
like to know what went on durning the time that they just jumped over in
the comic.
- Was able to order the new Leo statue, but wont' see it till
November... "I CAN'T WAIT!"
- Two new TMNT Shirts at Hot Topic.
- And now Kevin's new book. And really, I can't express how GREAT of a
book this is! Kevin went out of his way to make this book as good as
he could and you can tell through out it. I think the best thing about
it, is the notes about what everything is and all. It's the first book
I've read in a long time. True there's not much reading to it, but I
read the full thing and loved it!

How long has it been since us fans have had so much to look forward to?
With the new show, the comic, the toys coming out. It's like we're
getting a chance to be brought to the feelings we had about the Turtles
over 10 years ago when this stuff was coming out for the first time.
It's our chance to be back in the day where our love of the Turtles was
comman with almost everyone around us, and everyone knew who the Turtles
were. The Turtles are coming back, and one of the best things about it
is that part of this come back is because of Peter hearing the fans.
Voices were heard and now they're back. And from the looks of it,
everyone at the studios is enjoying putting this stuff out, as much as
we're enjoying seeing it come out. Which makes this even better for
everyone all around. ([:{-)

Well I just wanted to get my two cents in on how things are going. And
saying, yeah I'm still around. BTW, I'm going to try and hold another
Turtle Con booth this up coming Motor City Comic Con (May 2003). Though
I want to change the sign from "Save Our Turtles" to "Ninja Turtles
Return!" This last May when I went to the convention without holding
the booth, I was asked by tons of different people "Where is te Turtle
Booth?" and I spent over $100 on TMNT stuff I didn't already have. So
we have made a major difference at this convention and I figured it'd be
a nice wrap up, if one more booth is done.

Now I know there was a TON of rumors that went around about me, from
Turtle Con 2000. Saying how I used the money for my own personal use.
I'll like to point out that not only did I also put in about $200 to $300
out of my own pocket towards the party and convetion, and items to sell
but also took a loan from a family member of $600 in which is still being
paid back. Those rumors are false. I did not get or gain anything
from the covention and even made sure to leave my 'real name' off of
everything done for the convention. Not wanting any credit. I've also
been told of the rumor that people thought that if they didn't donate
that I'd think they were not a true TMNT fan, which is also not true. I
know not everyone has money to give out. To avoid any further rumors
about myself, I will not ask for any donations for the up coming booth.
The Booth will be the same size, though depending on money there might
not be the 'party' on saturday night.

I will put up a web page for the next Turtle Con booth this up coming
May. It would be cool if we could do another big meet up, and have a ton
of us together again. That was a lot of fun. Which is the reason I'm
letting this information known right now. So if people are interested
in going to Motor City Comic Con for this get together in May 2003, they
have time to start planning now. I hope to see some of you there.
([:{-D San D con is the convention for the West Coast, though Motor
City Comic Con seems to be the biggest gatherings we've had on the East
Coast area.

That's all from me, sorry for rambleing so much. Take care.

                                                                Donatello Ivey

                                                                * Back to lurking *
