Oooh cool, a usability testing sort of quiz! *twisted evil grin*

> 1: What color text, background, and font size are easiest to read on?

I could list many color combos that do work, but the most important
thing to keep in mind: Anything that does not cause one to have
eyestrain and otherwise creating a headache.

I like to use a black, grey, soft blue or soft green background, with a
black font, size 12 pt, times new roman. Arial or Verdana is okay too,
but you have to set that font. Usuing a black background with
white/grey text can be okay too.. but don't use too much wildly colored
text if it's a fanfiction.

> 2: What make a Fan Fic look professional?

The layout of the header is a good start. I like to make the title
consistent on all chapters, in a bolder larger font. Then follow the
chapter # and name in smaller font, maybe in italics. If necessary,
who wrote the chapter in normal size font. For an added touch, you can
have a line or <hr> seperator. I also think having it left alined is
better than being centered (since browser windows are much wider than
the usual 8.5x11 page).

Since it's an online read, just make the paragraphs block style,
aligned to the left. And if you don't like having the text all buttted
up right next to the left side of the browser window, <blockquote> or
<dir> the paragraphs over to the left to give it a margin.

Lastly... it's a nice touch to put links on the bottom of each chapter
or full page story, that'll take you back to the main fanfiction page
and//or on to the next chapter.

> 3: Does.... this... annoy... people....... when.... they....
> are...... reading...... a fan..... fic?

Oh hell yah... especially when you don't correctly use them, or type
them. it's just three ... and then a SPACE, so the line actually
indents. ;p

I don't mind the occasinal ... in a quote, but I heard it's not correct
to use it in prose. But I think I'll let the real text editors back me
up with better reasons why. *lol*

> 4: What other thing are annoying when reading Fan Fiction?

Pet peeve #1: When people use all UPPER CASE CAPS when a character is
screaming or emphasizing something. The correct format is to leave it
in lower case, and use italics instead. The only time I decide all
caps is okay, is when something like a simple computer is speaking, or
a sign is being pointed out.

Pet Peeve #2: Going overboard on the song lyrics... especially the
ones that are a mile long. I just like to capture the lyrics that mean
the most to me and how it relates to the story. ;p

Pet Peeve #3" Mary Sues/Gary Stus. What are they? Stories where the
author's main character is like the dream version of themselves, who
then writes a story of how their character meets, hangs out and perhaps
also falls in love with their fav fandom character. Not that they are
all bad - I have read many good ones - but they do happen much to
frequently in the TMNT fandom nowadays. *ducks baps*

Oh.. I was in a non-TMNT forum, when for kicks, they decided to have a
silley Mary Sue fic contest. One author wrote a parody called Sueage.
Then I mentioned that what it sounds like.. should be the new term form
TMNT mary sues... Sewage! *lol*
