The reason no one likes the theme song is becuase of
another generation gap that has already started to present itself. The
music and themsong will in fact be much more attractive to the newer
generation of 5-12yr olds. Which if I remember correctly is more
closely what age groups are really being targeted by fox. Regardless
of the age groups that Laird/Mirage/etc would prefer to target. Sales
and marketing, along with the merchandise chain that Fox hopes to lead
is what will decide if the show is successful or
not.
Personally I went through the clip frame, by frame in QT6. To
be frankly honest I expected more from the artwork. While the art work
is "Nice", it is still lacking the depth of detail that I crave in the
TMNT. This is most likely why I still find myself going back to
episodes 1-5 of season 1, episodes from the final 2 seasons, and the
original Mirage Black and White Volume 1 comics. These have the most
artistic value to them, as well as the best story lines with the
ability to be reread with a new interpretation of what was really told
in the story.
To be fair, I watched the clip 3 more times in
normal speed and I have to say that I'm still a little let down by the
animation. I have seen much better from early CGI movies. I would say
that this show was at best, rushed through production. I don't think
that the artists truly had the time to spend on the cells that they
should have. Everything is generalized. There is almost depth to the
art at all. The whole show appears to be drawn in silloutes, which is
fine, if that is the medium they choose to use.
I will be
missing the first several weeks of episodes as I move into Germany and
then into the balkans. When I'm situated I should have satalite TV and
hopefully internet available to me to catch the show and news on it.
I'm hoping this show makes it and that I learn to like it more as it
progresses.
All in all I would rate it as another Fox run
show. -----Original Message----- From: Neil Vitale [[EMAIL PROTECTED]] Sent:

I'm all for the new show. I can't wait for
Feb 8th like everyone else. Hell, I'll even wake up eaerlier than
normal in order to get a high quality digital recording of it(No Tape
for this TMNT show!).
But I had mixed emotions when seeing the
animated intro. I liked it, but there was something about it that
wasn't appealing at the same time. I'll also miss the classic Shredder
look, eevn though I like the new design.
And now I see the
voice list. Do we really need someone who's worked on Pokemon voiceing
April?
As always, I'll give it a chance, but I hope this lingering
feeling of dread isn't a sign, considering I like the episode
descrptions..
