Well I gotta say thanks for the warm reception :) And how lucky is it that I found some of the greatest old friends out there, eh guys? Yep, Kris & Al were the "pen pals" I'd mentioned, along with a few others.
I thought about replying privately to save those that don't know me wading through nostalgia they might not care for, but with this disclaimer, I feel I can just involve all of yas and nudge my way into your crowd of Turtle lovers. After all, I waited years before I was generally accepted as "Leonardo" of the last group (someone else had taken the handle and tho he hadn't posted for months when I signed up, we reserved it for 'm for a long while) -- so this time I might just be more assertive.
So first off, let me say thanks for the welcome 'tho we didn't know each other to Lee Chang :) Very kind of ya. This time around we are posting at the same time and can get to know each other.
Now on to Neil -- when I saw your name in my inbox I recognized it -- but *I* can't remember your TMNTBBS handle, either. I have an old print-out of a "Directory" of members I made in 1993, and it reminded me that George Kovka, Jr. signed on as Shredder and Aladdin-Kel Franks (Nathan's brother's handle) signed on as Splinter. But maybe by the time you showed up those folks were gone? Dang my swiss-cheese memory. But yes, I remember ya, and it's great to see you again! But don't feel left out, this old list pre-dates Alli, too, and Kristy had to go by "April O'Neal" because Michaelangelo was taken (they did later become that other-other Raphael ;) and Mikey, of course :D )
Speaking of which -- oh boy, am I automatically gonna be thrown into the "Oh, she's a loony" crowd for knowing you two right off the bat? Hehee, Heya guys!!!! It's really cool to hear that you two still keep in touch and such. I literally squealed when I saw your names in mah mailbox :D
Now, (disclaimer #2, this is 8 years of catch-up) you guys asked me what I've been up to: I, as Neil put it, "pulled a big disappearing act" when my mother grounded me from P*... pretty humiliating to be restricted from that as a senior. So, sorry about that. As a result of my mother's displeasure in my dropping school grades (which started dropping AFTER she grounded me from the computer) I was not allowed to visit Beth (Raph to my Leo, oh that screwy Screwloose) or call Maggie (aka Don :) anymore. So I skipped town and went to live with friends instead of my folks. Since then I've been a nomad. Stayed in Texas and went to college for a while, got engaged, 1 month before the wedding I again skipped town. Went to Georgia and lived with some Russians, got engaged but that didn't work out. Went to live in Sweden for a while. Then back to Texas, now I'm in Colorado. I'm currently training the boyfriend in Turtle Lore and working as a Temp, it fits my lifestyle. So now you're caught up! I know, I know, the Leo "I'm never going to fall in love" that you knew sounds repugnantly and irreplacably changed, but I'm still as insane as ever :) I'm overweight now and don't own a practice katana anymore (lost it somewhere in my multiple moves) but I still have my great Turtle collection (Nothing on what you guys have!) u.s.w.
About 1.5 years ago Beth called me out of the blue, she'd tracked my # down through a friend of a friend of a friend and so forth. But since I've moved 5 times since then, she might have a hard time contacting me again, and the e-mail address she gave me doesn't work :( Maggie I've been actively searching for for years now. She pulled an even more convincing disappearing act than I did! As for Scott, I never had out-of-BBS communication with 'm, but I do still have a phone number here if you want it... Billy Gruenloh (Ray Fillet) and Craig (ND) wrote me a few times, I bumped into Kirsten (Phoenix) Miller at rival American Football games and in the comic shop she got a job in (oh the lucky girl) from time to time. That's about it for contact with the list.
Anyhoo, guess that's enough to sate you for now. I must admit I've been a bit out of the loop as far as Turtle news goes, so this list has been quenching my thirst rather nicely. And now to speak up and find that you three are here is more than I could've asked for! Hehe just the other day I was thinking about when Kris & Al had sent me a TMNT script they'd written, and when I opened the envelope they'd sent it in a bazillion little confetti hearts exploded over everything.... but this sort of reminiscing could go on for a while, I'll be nice and make a close to this reaaaaaally long post now.
