Hi, Jennie!
Welcome to the TMNT-L, one of the ooooooldest lists on the Internet.  Glad I was able to help you find this list from my site and Dawn's!  Responding takes forever for me due to how I'm subscribed but after a few hours, I see my post appear.  Like the ones at Yahoo! Groups, I thought they were bouncing here, too!  :)

A resident from Arizona, huh?  Which city may I ask?  Our neighbors next door (noisy but very cool) just moved there yesterday.  I forgot what city but it's near Tempe.  If you ever run into someone either named Wayne or Cheryl Van Damme, tell them the Johnson girls from Escondido, CA say 'bye and hi!'  You can tell I didn't get to say a proper farewell to them when they left!  lol.  j/k.

As for intros, I'm Brinatello, or Brina for short if you prefer.  I'm short in height anyway, so I guess calling me with a shorter name makes sense!  I don't do much posting due to my work schedule but when I do have something to say, it tends to call for trouble.  Not all the time but I have a bigger mouth on here than in real life.  I'm totally the opposite in person.

Like most listers here (and elsewhere), I do a lot of writing and drawing on my web site and devote quite a lot of my time to the TMNT because I love it so much.  I say love as in something I admire a lot, hopefully not an obsession!  That's to the point of buying, for example, all that TMNT memorabilia from Kevin Eastman for $1 million.  I can seriously tell you I would never reach that level.  Ahem...seriously.  :D

I guess I'm a long time fan myself, being an on and off, and on again one since the cartoon debut in 1987.  During my fall-out years, I'd say from 1992-1996, I still stayed tuned to them with the Archie series and nothing else.  I became a stronger fan and remained that way till now when "Ninja Turtles: The Next Mutation" aired on Fox in 1997.  It wasn't the greatest in the TMNT world but I do have to give it some credit for making me a rediscovered fan all over again.

Everyone has stories and reasons of how the TMNT has helped them survive in life.  Mine came up during 1991 when my parents started going through a separation and then, a nasty divorce.  My dad walked out of the house on January 5, 1991, two days before their wedding anniversary, and it started a chain of every other weekend to go visit him.  Between those months, I needed some kind of invisible comfort and it just happened to be the time when the second movie came out in theaters in late March.  I went with the wrong audience (my dad and sister thought it was corny) but it also gave me the chance to meet Leonardo and shake his hand!  Being the dumb, happy kid that I was, I was totally ecstatic and nothing could upset me that night, not even crummy break-ups between my folks!  I'm not sure what my sister clung onto for support during that time.  I hope it wasn't NKOTB!!  Aaaack!

Wow, this is getting long but then again, I've got all day since I'm off!  lol, but I'm not going to spend all day typing in this one email.  It's 11am, I'm gonna have some S'mores cereal (it's real good!!!) and go read the Sunday comics.  Bye for now, Jennie, and everyone!
