Hello, everyone,
Here's another recurring thought buzzing through my head uh-gain, but only
because I'm going through my huge list of music files. I've never
told anyone this, but for the past, oh say, 2 years, I've had this particular
mp3 instrumental song in my files that is so haunting and so lovely, I only
vision a main sequence of events that should follow with it. The death
of Splinter. Here's how it went:
The song is called "Nocturne" by Secret Garden. It's very slow with
the start of a beautiful violin and then the rest of the orchestra starts
to blend in softly. I picture a cold, windy day out in the middle of
the Northampton forest, aerial shot of the four turtles walking out to an
empty field towards a lone tree with a rectangular-shaped hole in the
ground. April, Casey, and Shadow slowly trample behind all dressed in
black.
Leonardo holds out a book (perhaps the Bible) to read a psalm, but you
can't hear him speak since the music is going on in the background. All
you see is his lips move while his brothers gather
around the hole with a closed-lid coffin at ground level. The
three humans stand in the background as the four turtles are closer to the
coffin, each giving his weapon as an offering. Soon, the humans approach
and each place a bouquet of flowers and the scene starts to fade out to another
one.
I picture the ending of this whole thing at dusk where the four
turtles are sitting around a campfire, reminiscing on their beloved
master. I think the song is a little over three minutes long, so timing it
right would make it a nice touch for each of them to have a personal
flashback with their sensei. A lot of this reminds me of the campfire
scene from the first movie, only of course, you won't see Splinter
appearing in the flames. Instead, before the song ends on the last few
chords, the last close-up scene would be of Leonardo's face staring
into the fire, his eyes shining with tears, and then the camera
slowly backing away on all four of them until it fades out.
For the life of me, I can't figure out why these visions go
through my head every time I play this song. The sad thing is, I'll
probably never see it with my own eyes, like in video form. I've gone over
what type of animation would look good, either CGI or, more recently, the
animation we now see on the new TMNT show.
No, this didn't start because I read issue #10. This
is something I thought up back when I first downloaded the song
on...yup, April 22, 2001! The problem I'm having is, I dropped out of
the animation classes and it would be nearly impossible for me to
create this piece. Not without help, anyway. The only thing I've got
is the song and the visions spinning around in my head. It's times like
these I wish I had experience in making music videos like how you see on MTV or
VH-1....um, when videos used to play on those channels!
Now, to answer your question. No, my medication is not making me
delirious. I would, however, like to hear your thoughts and maybe, just
maybe, get some help on perhaps making this piece a reality and not a
dream. Until then, I'm off to bed.
