~Oh cool--updates! Though I dare not do *anything* on-line until I
finish this little project for Sean.... ![]()
Oh, was thaaaat what he was telling me last
night? Don't worry, I kept him company while I
updated.
Oh, this isn't an update, but I do have something to show
GreenWillow. She came online last night, but had to leave so I
didn't get to show her. I did, however, show Sean who really liked
it. If anyone's been to GW's main page, they would see that it
looks like this (just giving a plug for an example :) :
Notice how the title words, the little animated star sparks between
ENTER, and the TMNT picture all have a black border around
them? Well, I was bored one night and decided to fix those images,
including a reanimation of the star sparks. I changed the images
to gifs and made the black borders transparent against the blue
star background. Now, it looks like this (just giving another
example) :
~It looks great,
Brina, and I'll be happy to change the images to your modified gifs, but
I have a confession to make. I can't see the black borders around them--
at all. Not in Netscape or IE. Its gotta be my monitor's settings, cuz I
know I seem to see some people's art as much darker....I've got my
monitor set the brightest setting...I'll try darkening it and see if I
can see what you're seeing.
Can anyone else give me some
feedback on this?
Um, you're not supposed to see the black borders on
the images, GW. ;). That's the changes I've made. I
purposely removed the black borders by making black the transparent
color of the gif images. If you see the black borders, then the
images didn't load like they should.
Thank you Brina! If you want to send me the new
images I'll trade 'em out. I do like how the brick wall logo thingy
loads now a lot better, too.
Oh, I like how it does that too. Gif is a pretty
cool file type for such things. I make my dolls out of gifs
because I like to remove the background from their forms. I think
JPG has a transparent option, too, but I haven't found it yet.
Still learning that thar Corel program just by using the tools when I
need them!
Brina:
Oh, and Happy Birthday to RINGO!!!! Our Mikey-Beatle of
the bunch!
~And I always think I'm the only one who still remembers their
birthdays!
Jeez...I dreamt about John Lennon last night; he and Yoko had
come in to the office where I was working for couples counseling.
We had a really good session addressing domestic violence (??) Then I
realized he was dead so I must be dreaming...weird.
~GW...its bad when you start doing therapy in your sleep....
Well, I'm still trying to figure out the one dream I
had awhile back with Paul, Ringo, AND George at a 100th
birthday party for Bob Hope! We, meaning myself, my sister and my
mom, snuck into the gala event by crawling on our hands and
knees under dinner tables just to get to some seats in this
huge auditorium room. When we sat down, it was like we all of a
sudden were accepted by all the celebrities in the room! That's
when the, ahem, three remaining Beatles walked across the aisle behind
our seats. George looked like from his "Got My Mind Set On
You" video but the sight of him still freaked me out. I even said
to Mom, "I thought George Harrison died!" and she was like, "No, he
didn't! He's still alive!" Creepy, huh?
Oh, speaking of real deaths, I heard on the news Buddy
Ebsen died. You know, Jed Clampett from "The Beverly
Hillbillies." He was 93. The thing that made me sad about
that is, other than the surviving Munchkins, he was considered the
last remaining principal character in "The Wizard of Oz." Even
though the role of the Tin Man went to Jack Haley, he still recorded
songs (you can hear him singing on the soundtrack), dressed up in the
costume, and filmed some scenes with the other cast members.
Wow, we've lost quite a lot of people in the past two weeks!
Saaaad. :(
