If I disappear for a little while it's because of the Tropical Storm that's headed straight for us (once again). This one is Erika... and she's fast and fully developed. Claudette had nothing on her.
At any rate, we're busy boarding up windows, getting sandbags and stocking up on canned goods and water. Unfortunately, my house is in a low-lying area of town that floods frequently. If the water comes above street level, then I'll start preparing to move my belongings (esp. TMNT comics) to higher ground. I may end up staying home by myself with my cats. My sister is saying that it's smarter to stay at my parents' house. But I want to take care of my place. Or, I may be confined to my work building. I'm scheduled for all weekend, and hurricanes usually call for OT and extra manpower. We've gotta build two days worth of newspaper in only several hours, just in case we are unable to print on designated days. At any rate. Don't be surprised if I'm quiet for a while.
