That's also my preference. Or at least /usr/local/tomcat.
We have a precedent - Apache.
FHS allows /opt packages, and AFAIK that's the best way to allow multiple
versions of a products at the same time. Putting everything in /usr/bin (
or /windows ) is very bad if you want to work with multiple versions
( so I would vote for /opt/tomcat-3.3 ).
( but of course, Henri is maintaining the RPMs and who does the work
should decide the layout )
