HttpServletResponse.flushBuffer() fails to flush data to client

Thanks for your quick response.

My client is an applet using URLConnection to send and receive request.

I tested the same tomcat setup where the flush appears to fail but this time
returned simple text.   See code below.  Client used was Netscape.  The text
was returned at seperate times.

I gather from your email that it might be something in the http request
coming from my applet that is making the http connector behave differently.
Do you have any ideas or suggestions about what to explore about using
URLConnection to correct problem?
