Coyote 1.0 Beta 7 or later now uses different thread pooling code (from Tomcat
3.3).

Could you test using it ? If you're not experiencing the bug anymore, then it
is likely the problem is with Tomcat 4 TP code.

b8/

To configure Coyote with SSL, use:
    <Connector className="org.apache.coyote.tomcat4.CoyoteConnector"
               port="443" minProcessors="5" maxProcessors="75"
               enableLookups="true"
               acceptCount="10" debug="0" scheme="https" secure="true"
               useURIValidationHack="false">
      <Factory className="org.apache.coyote.tomcat4.CoyoteServerSocketFactory"
               clientAuth="false" protocol="TLS" />
    </Connector>

Note that the factory className is different.
