http://issues.apache.org/bugzilla/show_bug.cgi?id=27782 Tomcat has problem with image files that contain a ".GIF" extension. Summary: Tomcat has problem with image files that contain a ".GIF" extension. Product: Tomcat 5 Version: 5.0.19 Platform: PC OS/Version: Windows NT/2K Status: NEW Severity: Normal Priority: Other Component: Unknown AssignedTo: [EMAIL PROTECTED] ReportedBy: [EMAIL PROTECTED] We have just discovered a "bug" with Tomcat that other servlet engines do not have, and therefore it causes Tomcat to look "brittle". This bug would be very easy to fix, so I am reporting it to help improve the software. Tomcat does not display images (icons) when the images located in "jakarta- tomcat-5.0.19\webapps\<app-name>\images" directory (and it's subdirectories) have filename extensions that are capitalized (e.g., "icon.GIF" versus "icon.gif"). This only applies to the windows version, since windows filenames are not case sensitive. Other servlet engines, such as Resin, display image files properly regardless of the case of the filename extension. This should be an easy fix that will bring Tomcat closer to the capabilities of some of the commercial servlet engines. Hope this helps, BM --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: [EMAIL PROTECTED] For additional commands, e-mail: [EMAIL PROTECTED]
