Well I hopped to see it in 2.0 branch, since that's the one widely available today, 2.1 and 2.2 won't be in distributions before years ,(
Me too, I'm still hopping it will get backported. But there is still some unfinished stuff in the current ajp/proxy. (I've point a few, remember?). When we'll have that finished, together with docs, then we can shout out loud to backport.
