In addition to what you are doing:

- You must set your PATH to point to VisualCafe\java2\bin  (do NOT use VisualCafe\\java\bin as it correspond to JDK 1.1.7)
- In order to let your .bat file run properly you must allocate enough environment space. There are some methods to do that (you can search the archives of the maililng list). I personally add the line:

CommandEnvSize=4096

in the [NonWindowsApp] section of your system.ini file (in \windows). It requires a restart, after which you can try \tomcat\bin\startup.

I put my tomcat_home, java_home, and tools.jar stuff directly in startup.bat (and tomcat.bat too to be sure)...  simple... easy...

Subject: window 98/tomcat set up ?? FAQ page down

Hi
      I am trying to set up tomcat for use on windows 98 and visual Cafe . I am unable to get the FAQ page on the server ...
but I am having a problem when I type "bin\startup".. I receive a message saying bad command ....

     On setting up tomcat I created a new variable in my Autoexec.bat file  called TOMCAT_HOME and set it = to c:\tomcat and I have set a JAVA_HOME variable to point to the directory in visual cafe where the javac can be called ...

could someone give me a pointer as to what may be going on ....

Thanks in advance
