A way of alleviating this is through configuration of the Jasper servlet, that is, the servlet that compiles JSPs. You will find its configuration in the tomcat/conf/web.xml file. One of the attributes you can configure there will tell the compiler to put all the static content of your JSP in a static plain text file, so it will not be part of the servlet class, reducing its size.
Hope it helps you, Rodrigo Ruiz

Hi There,
The JSP page had it as a JavaScript variable (long story!!).
I am more curious to find out what the maximum size is due to an academic curiosity
Thanks

Hmm maybe you can just write out the file to the response body in a servlet ? Or do you need to do something in the jsp ?

What are you displaying in a JSP page that takes up 4 megs ?

Hi There,
Can anyone possibly tell me what the maximum page size allowed when compiling/presenting JSP page.
The question arises when I try and display a 4meg file.
If there is a limit is there any way to increase the maximum allowed size?
Thanks
Pete
