Instead of configure tomcat you can go to: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Apache Software Foundation\Tomcat Service Manager\Tomcat5\Parameters
Change java if it says Auto to java. I have no idea what it is supposed to do, but I can tell you when I checked it I got the same problem you got. Chanan Braunstein Knovel Corp.
