Thanks for the reply Yoav. I didn't even realize there were two shell scripts available. I just compared Tomcat5.sh to the original that I modified, and they're the same.
Luckily, just a few minutes ago, I found the problem. It was permissions. I allowed more broad permissions to the Tomcat directory structure and things started up beautifully. Thanks for the help.
