Another simple solution is to redirect stdout and stderr to text file like this:
startup.bat 1>std1 2>std2 where "std1" and "std2" are quasi-arbitrarily chosen file names. This approach is convenient when you do not want to modify the contents of "startup.bat". However, you will need to either open another shell or navigate to those files in Explorer....
