Have you tried to mark /admin context trusted in server.xml? I'm not sure if
it helps you, but I've had no such problems with the following
configuration:
<Context path="/admin"
docBase="webapps/admin"
crossContext="true"
debug="0"
reloadable="true"
trusted="true" >
</Context>

the steps you told me, i could not understand.....would you mind explaining

i have added the line
<user name="adm" password="tomcatadmin" roles="admin" />
in the tomcat-users.xml and could log in, but the error 500 is coming which
ask to mark the administration aplication as trusted!
but how to get that done?? i am in fix! help me out please.....
