Yes, mod_jk does work with TC 4.0.1. I would download the binary for TC 3.3 and use the mod_jk in that dist. The docs that come with TC 3.3 don't really apply to TC 4.0.1 though. Instead, check the server.xml in TC 4.0.1 for instructions around the entry for the AJP 13 connector. The Apache httpd.conf directives are the same though.
