I left images and stylesheets outside the context.

[apache home]   /images
                        /syles
                        /tkt    -> connected with tomcat context which
serves application jsps and servlets

mod_webapp forwards *ALL* requests to Tomcat.  Leaving nothing for
Apache to handle.  If you want images and stylesheets to be kept in
apache then you have to use mod_jk instead.
