JAVA_HOME is set incorrectly. It should be:
JAVA_HOME=c:\jdk1.3.1_03

Hi,

I am new to Jsp and Java stuff. I installed Tomcat 4.0.4 following
instructions http://jakarta.apache.org/tomcat/tomcat-4.0-doc/RUNNING.txt

When I try to startup tomcat, I get the following:
C:\jakarta-tomcat-4.0.4\bin>startup
The JAVA_HOME environment variable is not defined correctly
This environment variable is needed to run this program
The system cannot find the batch label specified - end
Using CATALINA_BASE:   ..
Using CATALINA_HOME:   ..
Using CATALINA_TMPDIR: ..\temp
Using JAVA_HOME:       c:\jdk1.3.1_03\bin;
The system cannot find the file -Djava.endorsed.dirs=.

I have tried setting up environment variables for JAVA_HOME and
CATALINA_HOME but still get same error.
Please help.  Thanks in advance.

Manisha
