The installation is the same as any other. Tomcat is Java-based...write
once, run anywhere.

- download and install JDK (don't install to pathname with spaces, choose
something like c:\j2sdk1-4)
- download and install Tomcat binary (don't install to a pathname with
spaces, choose something like c:\tomcat)
- set JAVA_HOME in your system environment (via control panel->system)
- set CATALINA_HOME in your system environment (via control panel -> system)
- open up a command prompt, run CATALINA_HOME/bin/startup.bat

If you do the above and have problems, post as much specific information as
possible to the list, and someone will help. Make sure to be as specific as
possible when describing error messages or other problems, don't just say
"it doesn't work" like many posters do. Specific info gets the fastest
response.

If you don't know how to set system environment variables, open up Windows
Help (Start->Help) and search on "environment variables" and choose the
topics that address setting environment variables for every user, not just
the currently logged on user.
