Re: testing tomcat 5.0

The examples are fixed in the CVS version (which is extermely easy to build).

on http://jakarta.apache.org/tomcat/tomcat-5.0-doc/BUILDING.txt the build process is somewhat different. which one is the most general?

5.0.1-dev is currently faster than 4.0.x, but slower than 4.1.x (not by that much, though). The first stable release is expected to be faster than the latest 4.1.x release.

the comparison i made was with 4.1.7 not 4.1.x release and index.jsp loads faster in 5.0
