The easiest way is to grab the pre-bundled packages from jboss.

Look toward the bottom of that page. I recommend using JBoss-3.0.6+Tomcat-4.1.18 bundle.
I just noticed you specified "standalone". Well, I'll send this message anyway just in case it might help.
