Unless you have access to your Apache's httpd.conf file from the command line, it isn't going to happen. That's the only way you are going to get the two of them to work together.
If you do have access to the command line, email me off list at john AT johnturner DOT com and we can probably work something out. Shouldn't take long. If you'd rather do it yourself, and you do have access to the command line, the setup is the same as the HOWTO, you'll just need a different mod_jk.so file.
