Tom,

I've got a dual boot system (Windows and Linux) with LILO offering the
choice as a menu at startup. If I do nothing the default selection is
Windows.

In /etc/lilo.conf the line

        prompt

has been commented out as

        # prompt

(slipped digit) and then this configuration was activated with

        lilo <Enter>

with the consequence that at bootup no choice is offered, and the thing
dives straight into Windows.

I have managed (using Tom's Disk with ce) to edit lilo.conf back to what
it should be; but I can't activate this configuration because I can't
climb into Linux in order to do so ... can I do so after booting from
Tom's Disk, so to speak; or is there a way the automatic selection at
bootup can be artificially interrupted so that the menu choice is again
presented?
