Sun certainly could. However, that would be full circle. libm was split 
into libm and libsunmath so that purely Standards conformat programs 
could link only against libm and know that they were standard. Putting 
all of libsunmath back in would not be overly helpful.

I suppose, now that there are linker filters and such, that careful 
users could manage with the merge ... but the point of the exercise was 
to make it /easy/ for people to stick to Standards ... not make it easy 
for them to write non-portable code.
